As a psychologist, Dr. Seshat (AKA Dr. Julie Rand Spooner) works with individuals, couples, families, and groups, and she counsels both children and adults. While her training and experience are diverse, her style is ideally suited for those who are progressive, creative, and/or on a spiritual path. Her work has been influenced by her yoga and meditation practices, as well as her familiarity with various holistic modalities.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Dr. Seshat (AKA Dr. Julie Rand Spooner), is a licensed clinical psychologist and an Ancestral Healer in private practice. She is also an author, and the founder and C.E.O. of the Sakhu Healing Arts Center in Brooklyn. She received her undergraduate degree from Yale University and completed her doctorate at the Graduate School of City University of New York.
Dr. Seshat has been a practicing psychotherapist since 1988, and she has taught at City College, Medgar Evers College, and Borough of Manhattan Community College. Dr. Seshat gained administrative experience when she served as Director of Mental Health at a citywide foster care agency. In addition to founding the Sakhu Healing Arts Center, she has authored two books; Healing Across Dimensions: Transformation Through Spirit as well as volume two, Healing Across Dimensions: The Diamond Path. These books chronicle her ancestral healing practice. She is available for lectures and workshops as well as healing work to address the emotions and the spirit.
